About Toss Tac Toe

A cream wall with a three-by-three target stands on a floating grass island. Instead of placing marks, you throw. Hit an empty square and it is yours; hit a taken square, the frame or nothing at all and you have missed, and the turn passes. Three in a row wins the round, and the match is best of five.

What is different about this version

It keeps the strategy of tic-tac-toe but adds aim: you still have to choose the right square, and then you have to hit it. A small wind changes every throw, so no two shots are the same.

How to play Toss Tac Toe

1. Drag back from the ball and let go, like a slingshot. Sideways aims, further back throws harder.
2. The arc and the ring on the wall show roughly where the ball will go.
3. Hit an empty square to claim it. Anything else is a miss.
4. Check the flag on top of the wall for wind before you throw.
5. Get three in a row to win the round. First to three rounds wins.

Controls

Desktop	Drag and release with the mouse, or move the aim with the arrow keys and hold Space, releasing inside the gold band. Escape pauses.
Phone or tablet	Drag back from the ball and release to throw.
Players	One or two people on the same device. Nothing here plays over the internet.

Strategy

Take the centre early if you can hit it reliably, but a safe corner you will actually hit beats a centre you might miss. When the CPU has two in a row, blocking matters more than anything else.

Mistakes that cost you the game

• Throwing at full power when a softer throw is more accurate.
• Ignoring the wind flag.

Tips

• The CPU plays proper tic-tac-toe, so it will always go for a block.
• Switch to 2 Players in the pause menu to pass and play.
