Zombie Fighter
Drive a turreted ball around a fenced field, collect fourteen stars, outrun the crowd
About Zombie Fighter
A fenced 3D field, a rolling vehicle with a turret bolted on top, and a steadily worsening zombie problem. Fourteen stars win the round. They appear a few at a time and never more than six at once, so there is no way to stockpile them — you have to go and get each one while the field fills up behind you.
The pressure comes from the spawn curve rather than from any single zombie. They arrive every second and a half at the start and every four-tenths of a second by the two-minute mark, and the population ceiling climbs from ten to thirty as the clock runs. Nothing about the map gets harder; only the density does. A careful, methodical run is therefore worse than a quick untidy one, which is an unusual thing for a collection game.
There is a two-player mode on the same device: one person drives, the other works the turret. In single player the turret aims and fires by itself, leaving you nothing to do but steer, which turns the whole thing into a driving problem.
What is different about this version
The zombies never actually reach you. They close to about three units and stop, then hurt you from there — and the damage stacks per zombie at fifteen health a second each. Four of them holding station is sixty a second, which empties a full bar in under two. That one rule is what the game is about: the danger is not contact, it is being ringed by things that never touch you. The turret helps more than it looks, with a range of twenty-one units against a threat range of four, so anything it can see is already too far to matter. The two-player split is unusual too — the driver has no weapon and the gunner has no steering, so neither half can save itself.
How to play Zombie Fighter
- Drive the vehicle around the fenced field. It rolls, so it carries momentum into turns.
- Collect stars by driving over them. Fourteen ends the round in your favour.
- Zombies walk straight at you and hurt you while they are close. You start with a hundred health and it does not come back.
- In two-player mode the second player aims and fires the turret; in single player the turret handles itself.
Controls
| Desktop | WASD or the arrow keys to drive; in two-player mode the second player aims with the arrow keys or the mouse. |
|---|---|
| Phone or tablet | Drag the left stick to drive; the right stick appears in two-player mode to aim and fire. |
| Players | One or two people on the same device. Nothing here plays over the internet. |
Strategy
Treat health as a budget with no income. There is no pickup and no regeneration, so every second inside a cluster is permanently spent. Because damage stacks, one zombie at close range is survivable for six seconds and four for under two, which makes the entire driving problem about never letting a group converge. They path straight at you, so a wide continuous arc gathers them into a single trailing column behind you; a tight circle gathers them into a ring around you. Long curves good, tight circles fatal.
Stars decide the route and the route decides the crowd. Never more than six are out at once and a new one arrives every six seconds, so waiting for a convenient cluster does not work. Take the star roughly in the direction you are already travelling, even when a closer one sits behind you — a reversal costs the distance twice and lets the column you built catch up.
The clock is the real opponent. Spawn intervals shrink and the population ceiling climbs as time passes, so a four-minute run faces roughly triple the density of a two-minute one. Play for pace. In two-player mode the gunner should be opening the lane ahead of the car rather than killing what is chasing it, because anything behind is already at a distance the driver can stretch.
Mistakes that cost you the game
- Circling a group to shake it off. A tight circle keeps every zombie at its stopping distance, which is exactly where they do damage.
- Turning back for a star you drove past. The reversal costs the distance twice and hands the trailing pack a straight line to you.
- Playing slowly because it feels safer. Spawn rate and population cap both climb with the clock, so time on the field is the thing that kills you.
Tips
- Keep moving in long arcs. The rolling vehicle does not stop quickly, so plan turns early.
- In single player, steering is your only input — the turret picks its own targets.
- Drive through gaps rather than around crowds; the far side is usually emptier than the detour.
- Watch the star marker when the field is busy — it points at the nearest one.
- In two-player mode, split the jobs out loud: driver calls the star, gunner clears ahead of it.
- Use the middle of the field for messy moments. Hugging the fence removes an escape direction.
Questions about Zombie Fighter
How do I win?
Collect fourteen stars before your health runs out. There is no timer to beat.
Can two of us play?
Yes, on one device — one drives, one aims and fires.
Does health come back?
No. A hundred at the start is all you get, which is why distance matters more than firepower.
Does it cost anything?
No. Zombie Fighter is free to play, runs in your browser, and needs no download, install or account.
