About Five Star Getaway
A pastel island city floats in the sky: an eight-by-eight grid of blocks, a river with two bridges, a park, a plaza and three safe garages. You drive a yellow getaway coupe. Every cash bag you pick up adds a wanted star, and every star brings more police, from a single patrol up to roadblocks and a helicopter with a searchlight.
What is different about this version
You are only ever busted when you are boxed in and stopped, and a ring shows it coming, so driving away always cancels it. Bags far from a garage pay more, so the big money is always the risky run.
How to play Five Star Getaway
- Drive to a cash bag. The arrows at the edge of the screen point to the nearest one.
- Each bag you grab adds a wanted star and more police.
- Drive into a safe garage to bank what you are carrying and clear your stars.
- Keep moving. If you stop with a police car touching you, a ring fills and you are busted.
- Bank $10,000 to win.

Strategy
Pick up a bag or two, then head for the nearest garage before the stars climb past three. At three stars roadblocks appear ahead of you with a painted warning on the road, so turn at the junction before one. Use the handbrake to swing round corners and leave the police cars sliding wide.
Mistakes that cost you the game
- Carrying too much cash for too long and getting boxed in at five stars.
- Stopping against a building with a cop right behind you.
Tips
- Stars cool down slowly when no police car can see you.
- Pedestrians always hop out of the way, so pavements are a valid shortcut.
