Summer Lane
A stick-figure anime boss rush to save Coral Bay's summer festival
About Summer Lane
The Summer Lane festival has come to Coral Bay, and so has a gang of themed villains. You are Kai, a stick-figure hero with a coral headband, and with your friend Mira calling out from the sidelines you take them on one at a time, all across the city.
There are six places and six bosses: Riptide on the boardwalk at noon, Lantern Fox in the night market, Gale on the rooftops at sunset, Anchor Bruiser at the harbour, Circuit in the subway at midnight, and the Shogun of Summer at the top of the festival tower. Every chapter opens with a few lines of story, a title card and a VS screen, then it is one on one. Every boss attack winds up first and marks the ground where it will land, so a hit is always something you could have dodged. Land hits to fill your meter, then unleash the Summer Slash. Your progress is saved chapter by chapter.
What is different about this version
It is a boss rush told like an anime season. There are no minions and no grinding, just six duels, each with its own place, its own villain and a second phase that changes the fight.
How to play Summer Lane

Strategy
Bosses shrug off jabs, so finish the combo with the kick, or use a charged heavy to interrupt a wind-up.
Mistakes that cost you the game
- Mashing attack while a boss is winding up. Dash out first.
- Saving the special too long. Use it as soon as it is full.
Tips
- The ground marker fills up as the attack gets closer.
- Retrying a chapter skips its dialogue.
- Easy makes every hit cost half a heart.
