Claw Crane
A candy-pink claw machine full of plush critters, and ten tokens to win them all
About Claw Crane
A pink arcade cabinet floats on a little island in the sky, its pit piled with chunky plush critters: bears, bunnies, frogs, cats, ducks, penguins, foxes and pandas, plus one golden one wearing a crown. You get ten tokens. Each one gives you fifteen seconds to line up the open gold claw before it drops.
What is different about this version
Nothing here is a dice roll. How firmly the claw holds depends on how centred it is and how many prongs get under the plush, and a ring on the claw shows green, amber or red as it closes.
How to play Claw Crane
- Move the claw over the pit. The gold ring on the floor shows where it will land.
- Press Space or DROP to lower the claw.
- It closes, lifts and carries your catch to the chute on its own.
- Every critter you win sits on the shelf under the sign.
- Collect all eight kinds before your tokens run out to win.
Controls
| Desktop | Arrows or WASD move the claw, Space or Enter drops it. Escape pauses. |
|---|---|
| Phone or tablet | Use the stick to move the claw and the DROP button to drop it. |
| Players | One player. Any other characters on screen are run by the game. |
Strategy
Aim for the middle of a plush's body, not its head or edge. A loose grab can still make it if the plush is close to the chute, so pick targets near the front-left. The golden plush is worth three extra tokens, so it is worth a careful try.
Mistakes that cost you the game
- Dropping on the gap between two plushies.
- Waiting for the timer to run out instead of dropping when lined up.
Tips
- Watch the grip ring: green means it is coming home.
- Easy, Normal and Hard in the pause menu change how forgiving the grip is.
Questions about Claw Crane
Can the claw drop a prize on purpose?
No. Only a loose grip slips, and the grip ring tells you when that might happen.
Does it cost anything?
No. Claw Crane is free to play, runs in your browser, and needs no download, install or account.
